The Museum of Entomology is committed to teaching people everything there is to know about insects through the installment of permanent exhibitions, temporary exhibitions, workshops, and an ever-growing archive.
The Museum of Entomology is designed to appeal to everyone, with a focus on pre-teens and teenagers. The vibrant color palette helps to bring the museum into the future while the typography adds to the scientific narrative of the identity. I specifically avoided using illustrations and icons to keep the brand geared towards a more mature audience, which simultaneously sparks interest in insects.
When creating a logo for the museum, I wanted to ensure that it represented all insects. While initially inspired by the mandibles of stag beetles, the logo evolved into a shape that calls to mind the spikes and curves found in every insect’s exoskeleton.
